Getting started
How do I add a wallet?
Tap Add → Wallet address, then paste or scan a public address. Ethereum and EVM chains, Solana and Bitcoin are supported. bagfolio only reads the address — it can never move funds, and it will never ask for a seed phrase or private key.
For Bitcoin, paste your wallet's extended public key (xpub, ypub or
zpub) rather than a single address — see below for why that
matters.
Can I track a whole Bitcoin wallet, not just one address?
Yes, and you should. Paste your wallet's extended public key — it starts with
xpub, ypub or zpub, and most wallets show it under something like
Settings → Export or Account → Show xpub.
This matters more than it sounds. A Bitcoin wallet is not one address: it hands out a fresh one for every payment, and when you spend, the leftover goes to a brand-new change address. Track a single address and your total will look right until the first time you spend — then it can drop to zero while your money is perfectly safe somewhere the app cannot see. An extended key covers the whole wallet, change addresses included.
The key never leaves your phone. bagfolio works out the wallet's addresses on the device and looks up only those. And it is a public key: it can reveal your balance and history to anyone who has it, but it cannot move a single satoshi.
Never paste a private key. Those start with xprv, yprv or
zprv — two characters away from the public one — and they can spend your coins.
bagfolio refuses them outright, but no app deserves that trust: if you have pasted one anywhere, move your
funds to a new wallet.
I hold something on an exchange. Can I track it?
Yes — use Add → Manual amount and type how much you own. No address is stored and nothing links the entry to an account.
My token shows no price.
Prices cover roughly the top 1,000 assets by market cap. If a symbol is not covered it still appears in your list, just without a value. Very new or very small tokens are the usual cases.
Values look out of date.
bagfolio only fetches when you ask it to: pull down on the dashboard to refresh, or reopen the app after an hour away. That keeps battery and data use low — and keeps the number of requests small.
Privacy and security
Can bagfolio spend my crypto?
No. It holds no keys and has no transaction feature of any kind. The worst case if your phone is lost is that someone sees numbers — and the app lock, below, covers that too.
How do I lock the app?
Settings → App lock. You can require Face ID, Touch ID or Android biometrics (with device-passcode fallback) immediately or after a delay, hide balances by default on launch, and hide the app's contents in the app switcher.
Backup and restore
CSV/PDF export, JSON backup files and file import are available on iOS and Android. Automatic iCloud backup is an iOS-only Pro feature.
What is in a backup?
Your wallet addresses and labels, your manual holdings, and four display settings. Never balances, prices, keys or your app-lock configuration.
I forgot my backup passphrase.
Then the backup cannot be opened — not by you, not by us. That is the point of encrypting it. Turn the passphrase off in Settings → Backup & data and make a fresh backup, and keep the new passphrase somewhere safe.
What happens if I turn off automatic backup on iOS?
Uploading stops; the backup already in your iCloud Drive is left exactly as it is, so you can still restore from it. It simply stops being updated. To remove it, use Delete backup from iCloud in Settings → Backup & data — that deletes the file for good and turns automatic backup off with it.
I reinstalled and my data is gone.
Deleting the app deletes its local data. On iOS, if you had iCloud backup on, go to Settings → Backup & data → Restore from iCloud. On either platform, use Restore from backup file if you exported a JSON backup. You will see a preview and can choose Merge or Replace before anything changes.
bagfolio Pro
How do I cancel?
Use the Manage subscription button on the Pro screen. On iOS you can also open Settings › your Apple ID › Subscriptions; on Android, open Google Play › Payments & subscriptions › Subscriptions. Cancelling stops the next renewal; you normally keep Pro until the paid period ends.
I paid but the app still shows Free.
Open the Pro screen and tap Restore purchases. Make sure you are signed in with the same Apple ID or Google Play account that bought the subscription. If it still does not appear, email us with the date of purchase.
What happens to my data if I stop paying?
Nothing is deleted or hidden. You simply cannot add sources past the free limits, iCloud backups pause on iOS, values show in USD and ads come back.
Refunds
Use Apple's request page for an App Store purchase or Google Play's refund flow for a Play purchase. Eligibility is determined by the applicable store policy and law.

Send your OS and app version and what you were doing. Never send a seed phrase or private key — to us or to anyone.
